With their win against Southern Polytechnic University on Saturday the Bears of Truett McConnell College propelled themselves for the first time in program history, into the NAIA post season.  The Tournament, which is to be held in Montgomery Alabama,  at the Multiplex Facility, will begin on Wednesday Feb. 27 and will finish on Saturday March 2.  The Bears will play The University of Mobile in the opening round on Wednesday at 4:45pm.

In the SSAC Conference, only the top ten teams out of the 14 member teams qualify for the post-season tournament.  In past years the Bears always found themselves just behind the competition when the season ended but this year things have changed.  "This is where we have wanted to be for the past few years," Head coach Wade Mawdesley said.  "Our guys decided this year they were willing to do whatever it took to get here and they made it happen on the court, Mawdesley said.

While they are excited to be in the tournament the team is not satisfied with just hitting the road for a few days.  "Once you get in anything can happen," Mawdesley said.  "We feel good about our team and we have a great opportunity to make a run."
