Xenia, OH –Winterville native, and Truett-McConnell senior, Buck Harris has been selected to play in the 2012 Great Lakes Summer Collegiate Baseball League All-star Game scheduled for July 12 at All Pro Freight Stadium in Avon Ohio, the home of the Frontier League's Lake Erie Crushers.

Harris, a catcher for the Scouts, will enter the game with a .393 average, second best on the team. He leads the league with an OBP of.521, thanks to his 15 walks to go along with the 22 base hits he has collected in the first half of the season. Harris is also respected as one of the better defensive catchers in the GLSCBL. "Buck is very dependable both offensively and behind the plate," Arndt said. "He gets the big hits for us when we need it, and he has the opportunity. I don't have to worry; Buck will have a good at-bat every time he goes to the plate." "This is definitely something I've worked for since we got (to Xenia), Harris said. "First and foremost, I am blessed beyond belief to be able to come up here and play baseball." "I am grateful to God for this opportunity," he continued. "He has given me the ability to do this. We can work as hard as we want to, but it is all part of his plan to be able to have this kind of honor. I hope to represent God, myself, Athletes in Action and the Scouts in a positive way." Athletes in Action is a Christian Ministry based in Xenia, Ohio dedicated to using the platform of sport to spread the Gospel of Christ around the world. AIA is a ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ.
