Truett McConnell Bears
Volleyball - Sat, Sep. 15, 2012

Tonight, the Lady Bears played their first home volleyball game in TMC history against the Belhaven University Blazers, with a large, supportive crowd cheering them on.

Even as they struggled to keep their heads above the net, their spirits seemed to hold up as they pushed through three losing sets. Though they didn't come out with a win, the Lady Bears showed that they could stay in the game, even when the odds weren't in their favor.

Though its very early in the season the Lady Bears have shown they are a team that has great potential. "We're making progress, and that's what we want to do," said Coach Kevia Elkins. Elkins pointed out that the team played only its fourth game of the year tonight, and they've already improved over the course of their first three games. Progress.

As a new team starting their first full season, the Lady Bears have their work cut out for them, but they've already taken steps forward in the process. Tonight they were served a tough opponent, yet despite the challenge and another loss added to their record, their performance on the court, what can't be seen in the win/loss numbers, says that they intend to keep up the attack.
