Playing against a team ranked #3 in the nation would put pressure on any team, but the Truett McConnell Bear's Men's Soccer team played hard, returning the favor. The Warhawks of Auburn University at Montgomery won 2-0, but not without tough opposition.

The Warhawks scored two goals in the first half, but that's where their momentum ended. The Bears kept the ball moving across the field, keeping up the pressure on both offense and defense. As can be expected in a game where a battle of the wills is raging, the referees handed out a few yellow cards, as well as a red card.

Due to the red card, the Bears had to play with one less man for the entire second half, but even with the reduction of their ranks, the Bears kept Auburn from scoring. The Auburn offensive effort was tough though, giving Craig Stephenson plenty of work with six goalie saves.

While the Bears missed a great opportunity this afternoon the season is still in full swing and the next challenge is close at hand.  The Bears face Faulkner University on Saturday, September 21, on their home territory in Cleveland, GA.
