The Truett McConnell College mens soccer team traveled to Mobile Alabama on Friday to compete with Spring Hill College. The Bears would lose 1-0 in a defensive struggle.
Head Coach Damien Westfield felt like his team put in a good effort despite the loss. "I feel bad for my players who did everything they could to get a better result today. We played well in both halves but again we are not scoring our chances" he said.
The lone score of the day came on a penalty kick for Spring Hill that was a result of a hand ball in the box. The Bears had a great chance to even the game when they received a penalty kick in the 87th minute but Nils Conway was not able to get the ball by Spring Hill's keeper.
The Bears cannot sit and lick their wounds for long as they have to play right away against highly ranked University of Mobile. Coach Westfield agreed saying "We have to find a way to put this loss behind us and get ready for the 14th ranked team in the country."
