The men of Truett-McConnell's Bears soccer team battled out a close game against the Brewton Parker College Barons, winning with a tight 2-1 score.
For the entire first half, neither team was able to dish out a goal. Three minutes after halftime, however, Nils Conway headed in a goal for the Bears off of an assist from Stephon Williams. Rearing up for one more, Mark Voisin put another one in the net for the Bears, assisted by Angel Granados.
For a while, the teams seemed to have reached a stalemate, but the Barons weren't ready to give up. They scored a goal of their own within eight minutes of the game's end. They continued their efforts to tie the game, but the Bears defense prevailed. The clock buzzed, and the Bears came off the field victorious.
The Bears will play their last game of the season on Tuesday, October 30, at Truett-McConnell College against Reinhardt University.
