The Bears of Truett-McConnell's men's soccer team thought the last game of the season might be a close one. They were right. It was so close, that the scores were exactly the same at the end as they were in the beginning of their match with the Reinhardt University Eagles.
Trouble was brewing for the Bears when they entered halftime without having scored a goal. On the other hand, the Eagles hadn't been able to put one between the posts either. In the two halves of the game put together, the Bears made a total of 10 shot attempts, and the Eagles made 9, of which, Craig Stevenson blocked 7. The other two missed their mark.
Still tied at zero, the Bears and Eagles geared up for overtime. Ten minutes later, the score remained unchanged. A second overtime followed before the game was declared a tie. During overtime, the Eagles were unable to make any shot attempts, while Thomas Doyle made three for the Bears.
The Bears end their season with a 4-10 win-loss record and 2 ties.
